The history of photography has been undeniably influenced by photographers using Leica cameras. The Leica M rangefinder always puts human skills first and foremost, leaving no one and nothing else to blame or credit than the photographer. The Leica M6 also fascinates because of its exceptional quality, attention to detail and its concentration on essentials. A mechanical camera, the M6's battery is only necessary to operate its light meter. This is the original and PRE-TTL .85x viewfinder model with brightline frames for 35, 50, 75, 90 and 135mm lenses. This high magnification model has the ability to accurately focus every Leica lens even at maximum aperture & minimum focusing distance, including the 50mm f/1.0 Noctilux & 75mm f/1.4 Summilux optics. The original .85 magnification M6 was a relatively short run production camera replaced by the TTL version. Approximate production was 3000 cameras. This combined with the fact that it is the last standard shutter speed dial rotation model, has placed it in Leica history as a unique and collectable camera.
