<div>VERY RARE STAMPED DG 1920 Gillette OLD TYPE Safety Razor Model #102 </div><div><br></div><div> Written on the razor handle: Patented Nov. 15 1904 </div><div><br></div><div> This razor is a 1920 Model #102 Gillette three-part "OLD TYPE" safety razor using the pioneering</div><div>system of disposable blades. (patented by Gillette in 1904). Silver-plated knurled removable handle.</div><div><br></div><div> Three piece razor, top guard has three studs, center one is threaded for handle.</div><div>Uses 3 hole blades, Many of these razors have small splits in the handle which is common in this</div><div>type razor. </div><div> </div><div> They had serial numbers on the lower blade holder until about 1929. This razor has a </div><div>serial number on the top of the blade holder, #M687636 which identifies it as being manufactured</div><div>in 1920. The razor is silver in color with no plating loss what so ever. It is probably SILVER </div><div>plated, I say this because of the tarnish on the razor. It has been cleaned and polished, but you </div><div>may want to give a once over yourself.</div><div><br></div><div> This razor is extremely collectible, it has a marking of a "G inside a D" on the bottom of the</div><div>blade holder which means that at one point the razor was returned to the Gillette factory for repair.</div><div> </div><div> Apparently Gillette gauranted it's razors and if part of the razor got damaged you could return it</div><div>and they would either fix or replace the part. When finished Gillette stamped a "G inside a D" so</div><div>that that piece was not eligible to be fixed for free twice. As i was told by a representative from</div><div>the Gillette history department. He told me also that the "G inside a D" stood for "Damaged Gillette."</div><div><br></div><div>This is the really rare thing about this razor, think of the millions of safety razors Gillette sold</div><div>and the very small number of razors returned to be fixed!! This razor is one; you tell me how</div><div>many more there are that still exist. If you find one you better keep it because there are very</div><div>few. I've been collecting razors for about 40 years and I have only seen 3 of these razors with the GD.</div><div><br></div><div>PRICE $350.00 OBO</div><div>SHIPPING $5.60 CONTINENTAL USA</div><div><br></div><div>https://sites.google.com/site/richardsrazors/</div><div><br></div><div>http://www.ioffer.com/selling/rickcaron2008</div><div><br></div><div>http://www.bonanza.com/booths/rckandrews45</div><div><br></div><div>http://iantiqueonline.ning.com/</div><div><br></div><div>http://richardsrazors.ecrater.com/</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>PAYPAL ONLY</div><div>INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING COST: DEPENDS WHERE BUYER IS LOCATED.</div><div>INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: I WILL NOT ALTER SELLING OR SHIPPING PRICE OR MARK AS A GIFT, I SHIP ONLY </div><div>PRIORITY MAIL OUTSIDE OF U.S.A.</div><div>INSURANCE IS AT THE DISCRETION OF THE BUYER.</div><div><br></div><div>Terms of Sale:</div><div>When I describe an object as 'VINTAGE' or 'ANTIQUE' they will have the typical wear and tear you </div><div>would expect with an older piece.
